Since we arrived we have been hiking in a reindeer park. It was awesome. We ended up there at the same time as a tour and got to sit in and participate. We all had black pot coffee and a sugary bun. We also got necklaces made entirely of reindeer. Monday we went to visit one of the last amethyst mines in the area. We got to dig our own stones and keep one. We hiked in. Yesterday we went to Kuusamo, a small town, and hiked in the Oulanka national park on the way there. We have kept very busy. We have had lots of fun shopping in the local grocery stores for food too. Many new brands and it can be confusing trying to figure out what some of the stuff is.
Today we went adventuring around the outskirts of Salla. We did a lot of driving and went to a wooly pig farm. They had lots of animals. We also went swimming in a lake. It was cold but fun.
Two more full days here and we fly back to Helsinki.

1) What the bleep is a wooly pig?
2) How can it be Thursday at 8pm there when it's Wednesday at 8pm here...it's a 24hr time difference?!? (or am I just missing something...)
