Peas On The Moon

I am sitting here on the longest flight of my life. We have about three hours to go. It’s 7 hours and 20 minutes in total. It’s actually not that bad. They are playing movies. They’ve fed us, and they gave us pillows and blankets. Pillows and food aside, we are loosing 6 hours between when we got on the plane, and when we’ll get off. Oh well, I guess our bodies will adjust in time.

Our trip to halifax went well, we boarded our flight and landed in Boston on time. We had a 2.5 hour stopover in Boston, and boarded the flight to Helsinki that i’m on right now.

My biggest disappointment was the fact that I’ve had no wifi at any of the airports so far. Technically Halifax has free wifi but the terminal I was in had a pathetic to non-existant signal. Boston advertised for wifi all over the place but they failed to say that you had to pay for it, and I wasn’t about to start paying for it this early in the trip.

The mystery of the day is… Who was the guy with the four man security detail that was on the tiny Delta flight with us from Halifax to Boston. His security guys had the clear spiral ear pieces and intercoms and all wore suits. Looked a bit like the Secret Service, but I didn’t recognize any of the people that were under their care. The thought that was going through my head was, if you are important enough to have security detail, why are you flying on a tiny cheep charter flight from Halifax to Boston, and not a private jet, or at least a bigger plane? Perhaps they were actually transporting something instead of someone so much. I don’t know.

That’s all the excitement I have so far. The rest of the crew is asleep, or as asleep as you can be crammed on a plane. About three more hours and we’ll be landing, then I’ll get a chance to post this up, I hope!

Update: We are in Helsinki. We have checked into the hotel, and the rest of the crew is napping at present. I just got up from a quick two hour nap. I’m afraid if I nap too much I won’t sleep tonight. Then again, I really hadn’t slept in the 24 hours before that. The joys of international travel! Soon we will get adventuring, I’ll let you know how that goes.
