Anyone who has spent any time with me knows that i love to talk about my pets. It takes very little to get me started and I will go on for as long as you let me. This being said, I usually refrain from posting at length about the adventures of my furry ones. I've decided to break this habit just a bit and tell you some stories. This break is inspired by Keith's feline story.
I'll start with some Thomas stories as he was the first feline into our abode. We adopted him when he was 4 months. He was a little tabby with big ears and a super long tail. He has since grown into the ears and tail, which makes him a very sizable cat. Thomas is one of the most curious, but least brave cats I know which makes for some interesting situations.
Thomas is a very playful cat. He goes a bit crazy almost every day and runs around in spurts making funny meow chirping noises. Sometimes Tess plays with him, and if for some reason she gets bored before he does, he'll sit and make a horrible crying noise until she, or we come to play.
Thomas is famous. It all began with a short film i made of him as a kitten to practice my iMovie skills. Then ICanHasCheezburger came along and I uploaded a few pictures of him. One made it to the front page a few weeks later. Another made it into their latest book! He has also been published on kittybellys.com
Last Christmas I decided to take a Christmas photo of the cats. I put red satin ribbons on their necks. Thomas was so upset (he hates change) that he went upstairs and wouldn't come down. I finally took him down and he hid his head. I took the ribbon off, and the next thing i knew he had the ribbon half in his stomach. He really hated that ribbon.
He likes to cuddle. He won't tell you this. He prefers to pretend he's too macho, but when he wants an chin scratch he'll come and give a little meow (he doesn't have a real meow, only funny noises and mews) and settle in on your lap or stomach. Sometimes this is at 3am.
Finally, Thomas loves my Betta fish. He's fascinated by them. I once had a fish named Pablo. Pablo was a white and black Halfmoon Betta who lived in a small tank on the coffee table. One day I left to get groceries while Mike was in bed. In the hour between Mike waking and leaving for work, and me returning, Thomas knocked Pablo's tank off of the table and proceeded to "play" with him until he got bored. He apparently had no interest in actually eating the little fish. Amazingly enough Pablo was alive on the carpet when I got home and I quickly put him in water. I thought he would make a full recovery until i noticed the blood and tears in his fins from their "playtime". Pablo died a few days after.
That is the end of today's Thomas story.
