Magnetic Strip
I finished Outlander and I'm half way through The Golden Compass. I've also re-watched 2 season of Veronica Mars....hence the apparently slow reading.
It's snowing, again. I want to go sledding, and play in the snow... This does not mean i'm 5, I don't think. Thomas has taken to hunting a few ladybugs that have taken refuge in the apt. He stalks them, and when he catches them he tries to eat them, however they release a bitter tasting substance, which he does not like, and will then leave them alone, for about 5 minutes, until he tries again.....At least he's having fun.
I had a good chat with a friend on the weekend. One can never underestimate the power of a good chat and good company.
Random babbling... done.
Like O, Like H
So, that list of books i posted? Yeah... haven't touched it. I just can't get into the reading swing of things. I seem to go in trends where i read and read and read, then i don't pick up a book for weeks. Actually no, that's a lie. I have picked up Outlander(...just for you Amber!). But i've been having trouble reading consistently, anything other than web articles and magazines. I'm sure i'll be back on the reading truck in no time...perhaps i just need to cut myself off from watching seasons of TV dramas online....
In other news, Thomas has become pretty attached to Sweeney, and I'm not sure it's in a good way. Cats and fish can be friends right? They don't have to eat each other... ... these pointless rambles.... indirect stress relief?Tuna Fish
I'll admit i have a bit of a soft spot for betta fish. Today, while perusing the pet store downtown i came across some handsome male betta fish. I have 4 females...I was up for some y chromosome in the mix. The result is Sweeney. I've been informed he's been at the store for a while, probably due to the fact that though he is pretty, he is not near as pretty as some of his shelf-mates. Being that i had a spare tank or two at home, i grabbed some gravel and a plant, and took Sweeney home inside my coat (in a bag of course:P). He and Thomas are becoming fast.... friends. His tank will have to find a safer more permanent position soon.

Weird Fishes
Yesterday Phyllis celebrated her 2nd birthday. That may not seem like much to us humans, but to Phyllis, well let's just say she's past her midlife crisis stage. She had one too, last winter, but we won't get into that here. She's well and enjoying a large and comfy tank on my bookshelf.
In four days, Squishy will celebrate her 1st birthday. She's also doing well, and is still the most mellow of the bunch. Don't laugh. I realize i'm the crazy fish lady, but I love my crazy fish.. all four of them.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Tis the season... for sugar. The baking frenzy has begun. I made peanut butter balls, i have cookies and such on my list. We were brought in cookies today as a holiday bribe of good will by a company we deal with. From this week on i suspect my diet will consist mainly of sugar, with the odd infrequent attempt to eat healthy.....I ate an orange.....that balances the cookies i had for breakfast, the chocolate for lunch, and the cake for supper right?
I know it's not good for me it will not help my ever increasing holiday stress level, but i don't claim to have any willpower against sugar.
Mmmm cookie

Just for now
I sold another child. Yes, i know, I'm a horrible mother. Neko is gone to edmonton. She will be living a life of country music stardom, and travel. I think she'll enjoy it. I wasn't really going to sell her just yet, but the right offer came, and i jumped at it.
I took her HD out and put in a new one for the new buyer. So my life is on an unprotected HD, in a bag.... yeah.....I'm feeling a bit exposed. The good news is i can pop that into the new macbook and I'm back in business in minutes. The bad news is that I'm in limbo until then.... which is about a week. The good news is that Bella was willing to come out of retirement for a week or so until I'm up and running regular again.
It's scary how dependent we become on these machines. Neko came everywhere with me. To work, on trips, everywhere, so my entire electronic life is on her. Emails, photos, files, etc. You don't realize how much you miss them until they are gone. Sure i have internet access and computer access until a get a new one, but it's not mine and thus all of my info is not on it. Ahhhh computer withdrawal.
Happy Halloween
Thomas the tomato and I wish you all Happy Halloween.....and much candy eating.
