I have ordered the boots. The winner was the "Black Smooth" boot (#1). They won by default. They ran out of my size in the other boot. I'm excited:). Let's hope they fit when they get here... let's hope they get here.
Up the Middle
So i found a place that will ship me the boots. Now i have to decide which pair. There is the pair i originally posted, and another pair. Both pairs are Black Doc Martins and both are "20 eyelit" which means "knee high".
1) Black Smooth These boots are beautiful and shiny. The problematic part for me is that they have no zipper (is this good or bad i can't decide? It will look awesome, but i will also spend the majority of my time lacing them). The second issue is that they are unisex. This makes me wonder if they will be wider and less fitting which is not good.
2) Black Illusion. This boot looks very chic and comfortable. They are a bit less shiny :( but they have a zipper for easy on/off. I am also of the belief that they are of the same design and leather as my red Doc's (for those who know them) that are super comfy and did not need "breaking in".
What do you think? I want to order by the end of the weekend (21 days shipping !gasp!) so place your votes!
I Want
Otherwise known as "9663Z Black Smooth", these boots made their way into my heart tonight. Very Quickly. The problem is we don't have a Doc Martin Store anywhere close, and their online store is US or UK only. None of us Canadian Folk... I mean to look into this further on Monday when people are in offices and stores are open.
This is what happens when you have so much work to do and no brain to do it. Boots fix writers block right? But seriously, they are to be my present for finishing my degree.... assuming i do....there are a few thousand words in the way right now.Crystilline Green
Don't give into the green! Constant vigilance;). They are out to take over the world. Don't forget that! LFS is ready!
This is How it Goes
As I head into my monthly disorientation I had a thought...We go through life wanting to be loved and needed by others. We are programmed in life to think these things are inherent to our being happy. I've come to the conclusion that it's one thing to want these things, but it's another thing to truly believe in their existence and to have faith in their presence when they are in our lives. I've more or less decided that it is only when we truly have faith in their existence in our lives (not the want to have them but the actual presence of them) that we can be content.
. . .kind of overly philosophical for me, but it made sense at the time.
Today's Undertaking
How to Procrastinate Part 1:
1. Feed your three feisty fish and then watch them eat and frolic pondering how big Mouse has grown and whether Phyllis is loosing her mind or not.
2. Stare at the massive pile of reading you have to do trying not to think about all the stuff you have to read besides what's in the pile.
3. Rub your dogs belly.
4. Take a picture of your brand new Bright Red No Sweat Shoes.
5. Tidy the stack of reading you are supposed to be doing.
6. Finish listening to the latest CBC Radio 3 podcast .
7. Pour a bubble bath and hope into the tub with your readings, careful not to get them wet;). ("Um.... I couldn't do my readings, my tub ate them?") To be continued. . .

Lovely Head
A warning to my fellow educated women:
We are in danger of ugliness, premature aging, and beard growth due to our pressing and unnecessary desire to educate ourselves. Don't worry your pretty little heads about the theories of Foucault, Butler or anyone else. Kittens women!!! Think Kittens!!! (Insert sarcasm in above statement)
My I.Q
when i was four years old
they tried to test my i.q.
they showed me a picture
of 3 oranges and a pear
they said,
which one is different?
it does not belong
they taught me different is wrong
but when i was 13 years old
i woke up one morning
thighs covered in blood
like a war
like a warning
that i live in a breakable takeable body
an ever increasingly valuable body
that a woman had come in the night to replace me
deface me
see,
my body is borrowed
yeah, i got it on loan
for the time in between my mom and some maggots
i don't need anyone to hold me
i can hold my own
i got highways for stretchmarks
see where i've grown
i sing sometimes
like my life is at stake
'cause you're only as loud
as the noises you make
i'm learning to laugh as hard
as i can listen
'cause silence
is violence
in women and poor people
if more people were screaming then i could relax
but a good brain ain't diddley
if you don't have the facts
we live in a breakable takeable world
an ever available possible world
and we can make music
like we can make do
genius is in a back beat
backseat to nothing if you're dancing
especially something stupid
like i.q.
for every lie i unlearn
i learn something new
i sing sometimes for the war that i fight
'cause every tool is a weapon -
if you hold it right.
